Getting to the Guatemalan Consulate in New York
The consulate is at 57 Park Avenue, in Murray Hill (Manhattan). On the subway, the 6 (local) stops at 33rd St and Park Ave, a 3-minute walk north. The 4 and 5 express trains stop at Grand Central (42nd St), about a 10-minute walk south along Park Ave. Several MTA bus routes run along Lexington Ave and Madison Ave with stops nearby. From Queens (Jackson Heights, Woodside), take the E or F to Lexington Ave-53rd St, or the 7 to Grand Central; from the Bronx, the 6 goes straight to 33rd St.

What happens if I am an unaccompanied Guatemalan minor in New York?
The Consulate General of Guatemala in New York has a consular protection unit set up specifically for unaccompanied minors. It can contact relatives in Guatemala, coordinate with pro bono immigration lawyers and accompany the minor through proceedings before US immigration authorities.
Can I apply for my passport in New York if I live in New Jersey?
Yes. Even if you live in New Jersey, the New York consulate is the one for your district. Just come with your DPI or previous passport, proof of address in NJ and whichever documents your procedure requires. Book your appointment ahead of time on the MINEX portal.
How can I vote in Guatemalan elections from New York?

The consulate does not provide sworn translation. It can, however, give you a list of recognised sworn translators in the New York metropolitan area. Documents written in Spanish generally do not need translating to be presented at the consulate itself.
