Getting to the Guatemalan Consulate in Los Angeles
The consulate is at 1605 W Olympic Blvd, Suite 400, minutes from Pico-Union. By Metro, take the Purple or Red line to Westlake/MacArthur Park and walk about 8 minutes south along Alvarado St to Olympic Blvd. Several DASH and LA Metro Rapid bus routes also run along Olympic Blvd. If you drive from the valley (San Fernando), take US-101 South to the Vermont Ave exit and continue to Olympic Blvd; from the south (Compton, Long Beach), take I-110 North to the Olympic Blvd exit. Paid parking is available on nearby streets and in lots around Pico-Union.

The passport is the official travel document recognised internationally. The consular ID card —the TICG— is issued by the consulate and works for certain matters inside the US (banking, licences in some states) but does not allow international travel. If you only need to identify yourself in California, the card may be enough; to travel to Guatemala or any other country, you need the passport.
